Friday Faves: May 20

Happy Friday!! We are finally having some beautiful weather here in Boston and I am LOVING IT!

I have a packed weekend ahead of me…my brother is graduating with his Master’s from Bentley University, so I’m going to the ceremony tomorrow and then my parents are having a party for him on Sunday! I also have my semi-annual haircut tomorrow morning and yes the anxiety is already creeping in….anyone else get nervous for haircuts?! My hair is like my baby, I’m always scared the stylist will ruin it! I’m trying someone new tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I have a ton of great information for you today, so let’s get right into it!

Favorite Recipe

Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Breakfast Cookies! I’ve made these twice in the past 2 weeks because they’re that good. I’ve been eating three of them as a pre-workout, but they’re great on-the-go breakfast snacks too! HereĀ is the original recipe. I added cinnamon to mine the second time I made them and holy moly were they good. The macronutrient breakdown per two cookies is:

99 calories
3.1 g fat
16.5 g carbs
2 g protein

Yummy, healthy, and super easy to make (only 3 ingredients, 4 if you include cinnamon like I did!). These will be a staple in my diet from now on! Tips: I use GF oats, but you don’t have to if you’re not GF! And I use mini Enjoy Life chips because the cookies are small and the mini chips just work into the batter easier.

Favorite Activity

It’s that time of year when I love to go to walk around my absolute favorite place in Boston-The Boston Public Garden and Boston Common. I haven’t gotten Tim on a Swan Boat yet, but I will soon!!!! #summergoals

Over Mother’s Day Weekend, my mom and I went up to New Hampshire, to the Currier Museum of Art to seeĀ the special exhibit, Killer Heels: The Art of the High Heel Shoe. It was very cool. I’m a shoe addict so I loved seeing all different types of heels throughout history. I would wear heels every day if I could! Here’s just one picture from the exhibit, you can see the rest on my Facebook page!

That’s Lady Gaga’s shoe in the middle!! LOVE.

Last weekend was my younger sister, Catherine’s high school musical. She’s a member of the Framingham High School Drama Company. This year, they did Legally Blonde. OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD YOU GUYS….it was great. That’s one of my favorite movies, but I’ve never seen the musical! Loved it!

Client Spotlight: Jill

My friend and client Jill has been absolutely KILLING it over the past 3 months, getting ready for her wedding in October. You may remember her from a few posts ago when I shared her x-rays. She suffered a major break in her left humerous, which left her with serious nerve damage and limited mobility in her left wrist and hand. She took about a year off from working out. When she went back to the gym this January, she weighed about 130. When she started with me in February, she was down to 126. Now, she’s down to 121! While her weight loss is awesome, her progress pictures are even more amazing. Check it out:

She’s slimmed down SO MUCH!!! Her waist, thighs, face, and chest/back is smaller, her butt is rounder, perkier, and more shapely, and just look at that muscle definition going on in her arms and upper back! I’m so proud of how far she’s come. She reports that all her pants are too big, she’s feeling great and her energy has increased. She also has built up enough strength to ditch her wrist brace in the gym! Did I mention that I’m proud? I’M SO PROUD! Her hard work and determination is amazing. She looks great now, and I can’t wait to continue working with her and see more improvements! Girl, you are going to look so amazing on your wedding day!!
