Friday Faves 6/17

Happy Friday! It’s a gorgeous day here in Boston. I’m loving the weather we’ve been having lately! It finally feels like summer and I can’t wait to spend more weekends on the Cape!

Fun Boston history tidbit for you: today is Bunker Hill Day! Bunker Hill Day commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill, which took place on June 17, 1775 on the Charlestown Peninsula in Boston Harbor. It’s also “Boston Day”….6/17….617….get it?

Chin-Up Clusters. Using bands and doing cluster sets (groups of reps with 10-sec of rest in between) is a great way to train your chin-ups if you have a hard time stringing reps together. The short break in between sets doesn’t allow for full recovery, but still allows you to string together reps in smaller groups. Today, I did my first ever cluster set WITHOUT bands!! Here’s the video. Use bands if you need assistance! I’ve been using bands for about a year now, so it felt great to finally do some without! Here are a few different cluster sets you can try:

3 x 3-3-3
3 x 3-2-1
4 x 4-4-4-4
4 x 4-3-2-1

Favorite Activity

I had a pretty low-key two weeks, which was nice since I had SO much going on during the month of May. Two weekends ago, on June 4, I had my dress fitting for Jill’s wedding! I’m the shortest bridesmaid, so my dress needed a lot of work haha. I’m not going to post any pics though…you’ll have to wait for the wedding to see it! (FYI my snapchat followers got a sneak peek! Follow me if you don’t already! Username is “cahrissay”)

That night I went out with my aunt and cousins and we had a blast! No pictures from that night…we were having too much fun!

Last weekend I had a beach day planned for my friends and I, but Mother Nature had other ideas. I spent the rainy Saturday with Tim and his friends doing this 1,000 piece puzzle:

We spent most of the afternoon working on it, and were able to finish it! I’m trying to convince them to save it and hang it up, because it’s a pretty cool New England collage! I also lectured everyone on the importance of doing activities like puzzles for brain health!

The next day, Tim and I snuck out to the beach in Southie for a short trip before he had some friends over to grill and play lawn games. It was nice to be outside in the sun after being inside all day the day before!

Currently Netflixing

Working my way through Bloodline, which is finally getting good after starting a little slow. I also started and finished Grace and Frankie over the past two weeks….one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen! Seriously, if you’re looking for a comedy, check it out! The episodes are only a half hour, and there’s only two seasons so far, so you’ll probably be able to get through it quickly like I did! I also started watching Black Sails last weekend….I don’t know how I went so long without that show in my life!!!! I’m obsessed!

Favorite Bachelorette Moment

We were #blessed with two nights of bach drama in a row last week….but then didn’t have any episode this week! I cannot wait to see what happens, but in the meantime, I’ll keep remembering the awkward but hilarious two-on-one date between Jojo, Chad, and Alex. So happy Chad is finally gone, but I was definitely worried about Alex! He’s my favorite guy in the house (I even followed him  on snapchat recently…#obsessed).

My Personal Progress Photos

I’m not a huge fan of posting my progress pics on instagram…in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever done it! But yes, I do take them occasionally. I’m trying to take more regular pictures, but I always forget! I’ve decided to share my pictures with my readers. These won’t be posted anywhere else, but I’m proud of the differences I’m seeing.

These photos are two months apart. The left photos were taken in April, and the right photos were taken last week.

I’ve really honed in my diet and training and the results speak for themselves. I have a post coming next week about my exact diet, including what supplements I use, so I won’t get into it here.

Biggest things that stand out to me: I’m much leaner and more defined. My waist has shrunk and all my pants are too big for me now. My glutes have increased to an incredible 39 inches…although I still think they look kinda small in these pictures, I can assure you they’re not! I also almost have abs! The best part, my weight is basically the same in both pictures, with MAYBE a 2 lb difference. I’ve been sitting between 113-115 pounds.

I’ve never really “loved” my body, I’ve always thought I was kind of weirdly proportioned. But I’m finally getting to a point where I can honestly say, I feel great, and I’m proud of how I look. This has been a long time coming for me!

And now, I’ll leave you with the pictures! Check them out below! Please ignore my hair turban, I always take these right after getting out of the shower LOL
