Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about you but I am sooooo ready for the weekend. Maybe it’s because my birthday is next week, but this week seemed to crawwwwl by.
Every Friday I’ll be writing a post like this, including some of my favorite things from the past week, including fitness/nutrition articles, non-fitness related articles, activities, exercises, Bachelor moments, TV shows….basically anything goes for these posts! Thought it would be fun to give you insight into my life outside of the gym!
So let’s get right to it!
Favorite Fitness/Nutrition Articles:
Do You Deserve It: The Ugly Truth About Getting The Body You Want via Show Me Strength
A Fine Balance: Dance Health at Every Age via Boston Children’s Hospital, Dance Medicine Division
How To Troubleshoot Diet Problems: 3 Important Steps via Precision Nutrition
Favorite Non-Fitness Articles:
Boston’s Mysterious Vanishing Man via CryptidAntiquarian (seriously spooky…worth a read)
16 Things to Thank Your Suitemates For via Odyssey Online (written by my awesome cousin and brings back so many college memories!!)
Favorite Exercise of the Week:
Seated Cable Row with Reach. My coach Jordan programmed these for me this cycle, and I’ve never done them! The idea is to get more scapular movement by rounding the upper back on the eccentric part of the movement. Really forces you to use the back muscles instead of just the arms! Try it out!
Favorite Recipe of the Week:
Gluten-free tacos. My boyfriend and I have made these twice in the past month because we’re hooked. His sister actually gave us homemade taco seasonings and hot sauce for Christmas, so we’ve been using that and we love it. They’re not too spicy, which is perfect for my sensitive tummy!
-1/2 lb ground beef (85%lean)
-1-2 tbsp. taco seasoning
-Mexican-blend cheese
-Salsa
-Gluten-free hard shells
-Any other toppings you like (lettuce, olives, guac, etc)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Brown the beef in a pan with a little bit of olive oil. Add the taco seasoning and cook an additional 1-2 min. Stand hard shells up on a pan. Fill with beef and top with cheese. Place in oven for 1-2 minutes (just to melt the cheese). Top with salsa and your favorite toppings and serve! That’s it! Super simple, super delicious. We also served ours with rice. Yum!
Favorite Activity:
Spending last Saturday soaking up a rare 60-degree sunny day (in February!), walking around Back Bay with my best girl friends and sitting out on the docks on the Esplanade. A great way to relax, get some vitamin D and exercise, and catch up with friends!!
Currently Reading:
Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell. This is about Operation Redwing, written by the only survivor. One of the casualties, Mike Murphy, is who Crossfit WOD “Murph” is named after.
Currently Netflixing:
Charmed and Twin Peaks, although everything’s getting put on hold so I can binge Fuller House!! #TannerFamily4Life
Favorite ‘Bachelor’ Moment:
It’s no secret my roommates and I love the Bachelor. We all pile into our living room on Monday nights to soak up the drama. We even started a Fantasy Bachelor league this season! I’m in last place 😦
Anyways, this week was hometowns for the girls and it was relatively tame. I’m still on #TeamCaila, although Lauren B is a close second for me! I would love to see Caila as the next Bachelorette!
Favorite moment? Easy. When Jojo’s mom chugged wine straight from the bottle.

That’s all for this week! Check back next week for another installment of my Friday Faves! Have a great weekend everyone!!
